Meet the Facilitators

Barbara Harry

“During my recovery from burnout, I experienced a deep encounter with the Lover of my soul. I transitioned from a human ‘doing’ to a human ‘being’ resulting in a more contemplative lifestyle. I want others, especially in ministry, to experience this God-given rest.”
Barbara’s experience in the health and pastoral care sectors highlights that our ‘soul’ tank needs regular refilling; enhanced by reflection on the Creator’s Word and world.

Barbara loves to paint pictures with words and give images a voice. She has published two coffee-table parable books, ‘Waiting: Soul Transformation,’ & ‘Oasis: Soul Refreshing,’ with several other writings percolating.
Barbara has facilitated many reflective Refreshing Day workshops for small groups of mainly women during the past 26 years in Wellington, Auckland & Hamilton. Barbara has received very positive feedback with encouragement to continue these workshops, especially for those in ministry.

Joy Hillary

Hi, my name is Joy Hillary. Over the years I’ve listened to many heart felt stories as I have run my own heart healing and spiritual health retreats.

It is a pleasure for me to be able to come along side Barbara to assist her in her Refreshment Ministry.

I am a long term support for close friends, Tania and Clinton Hawkes, assisting them in prayer and practical assistance in running Stepping Stone Ministries in Omanawa.

This is a fresh season of life for me as my husband of 50 years passed away mid-2024.

Looking forward to being with you along with her later this year.
